Why Should I Try to Regularly Practice Mindfulness Meditation?
Regular mindfulness meditation practice creates a happier, healthier, more productive mind. A 2018 study compared the effects of a six-week mindfulness training program to those of a half-day mindfulness seminar. They measured productivity, attentional focus at work, work-life conflict, and job satisfaction. Both groups saw a significant improvement in productivity, but the six-week program group saw significantly greater attentional focus at work, significantly greater decreases in work-life conflict, and marginally greater improvement in job satisfaction than the half-day group. To summarize, a brief mindfulness program does have merit, but regular practice over an extended period of time creates instrumental improvements (Slutsky 2019).
